Harbor City Narbonne vs Cathedral Catholic - Friday Night - 7:30 Kickoff on 97.3 The Fan

Friday night the CIF State SoCal Regional Division 1-AA Championship Bowl Game comes to San Diego and 97.3 The Fan.  The LA City Section Open Division Champions from Harbor City the Narbonne Gauchos head south to San Diego to face the San Diego CIF Section Open Division Champion Cathedral Catholic Dons.  The winner of this game advances to the CIF State Finals at Cerritos College on December 16th.  This is a rematch of the Southern California title game from 2016 that the Dons won on their way to a state title.  The win snapped Narbonne's 23 game winning streak.  

The Harbor City Narbonne is currently ranked #155 in the nation and #25 in the state by CalPreps.comThe Gauchos are coming off a huge win in the LA City Championship vs Garfield running off 55 straight points in their 55-7 win.  Harbor City Narbonne has won 7 of the last 8 LA City Open titles.  Narbonne comes into the game 10-3 with their losses coming to national powerhouses, #5 St Louis High School of Hawaii, #7 Centennial Carona, and their arch-rival Long Beach Poly.   

The Dons are coming off a San Diego CIF win over Torrey Pines 28-17.  The Dons are 11-1 after losing their first game of the season, then running off 11 straight wins.  Cathedral Catholic is ranked nationally #34 and number #7 in the state by Calpreps.com.  The Dons and the Gauchos have one common opponent Serra Gardena which both teams beat this season.  The Gauchos defeated them 27-26 while the Dons downed them 42-21 at the Honor Bowl.  

Cathedral Catholic leads three Western League teams that will play for CIF SoCal Division Bowl Game honors this Friday with 3 of the 6 SD CIF winner from that league.  Harbor City Narbonne leads the way for the LA City Section playing for a birth in the State Championship game in two weeks.  

The Game will be broadcast on 97.3 The Fan, as well as Radio.com and the Radio.com app.  Coverage begins at 3:00 PM with the Gwynn and Chris live on the campus of Cathedral Catholic.  The pre-game show begins at 7:00 PM with Braden Surprenant and The Coach John Kentera for the 7:30 PM kickoff at Manchester Stadium.  Follow 97.3 The Fan on Twitter during the game for updates as well.
