OK....I love the fact we have, like 365 days of sunshine here in San Diego and over 140 brew houses, plus when you add in all the beer tasting places, San Diego is like beer heaven for "BIG SILZ."

San Diego has to be the craft-beer capital in America and I say that with conviction!

Let me give you a tour of some of the best beer places I have experienced since I moved to San Diego 5 years ago.

1. Resident Brewing (1065 4th Ave) - Near the convention center.  I so love this place!  I'm a huge fan of great customer service and they have an amazing staff there!  Hop-heavy and so rich beers, they also have a great place to eat called THE LOCAL - loved the joint!

2. Half Door Brewing (903 Island Ave) - Another of "BIG SILZ" favorite beer places.  GREAT LOOKING two story place, filled with Irish and English ales.  Such great beers and the IPA's are some of the best in the city.

3. Monkey Paw Pub & Brewery (805 16th Street) - This place sets the standard on extra-dry IPA's.  Another great place for service...amazing!

4. North Park Beer ( 3038 University Ave) - Now, if you are looking for a place with some extra class, this place is so great looking and elegant.  It really captures the feel of North park.  On top of that, the place is nationally known for its great ales and for a homebrewer.  UNREAL PLACE!!

5. Alesmith Brewery (9990 AleSmith Court) - This place in Miramar is iconic!!  I believe it has been around for 21 years and may have the heavyweight title belt for San Diego's BEST IPA's!!  It also has a crazy-good coffee stout beer!

Now, I leave the best for last.

6. Alpine Beer Company (2363 Alpine Blvd) - This place is the "GOLD STANDARD" in San Diego.  Year after year, they continue to pump out these insane IPA's and have even mastered the barrel-aged beers.  Its a "BIG SILZ" must!!

Now that I have given you some of my beer joints, I hope to see you at one of "BIG SILZ" must-stop beer places here in San Diego.  CHEERS!!
