Analyzing the rosters...Chargers have a better squad

Pro Football

The Chargers are coming off their wild card win in Baltimore against the Ravens and now head to New England to go against The Great Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.

The Patriots have won their last 8 home playoff games.  When analyzing the rosters for both teams, the Chargers have the better squad. This a a winnable game for the Bolts and I think they will pull it off and move on to The AFC championship game.

The Rams are coming off a bye and host Dallas Saturday night, 5:15 at The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Dallas has played well in all phases of the game and they can run the ball with Ezekiel Elliot. He is a great all around back and QB Dak Prescott has played at a high level and has made very few mistakes. Cowboys defense has been very consistent much of the season and their front seven is extremely difficult to block. With that being said, I think with having a home game and coming off a bye the Rams should be able to steal this one.

Running back Todd Gurley is expected to play and hopefully he is at a hundred percent. Former Bronco C.J. Anderson has done a fantastic job filling in for Gurley. The Rams defense, with all their talent, has been disappointing several times during the regular season and it’s time for Defensive Coordinator Wade Phillips' squad to step it up.

Other matchups
Chiefs over the Colts at Arrowhead in a tight one.
Philadelphia goes in to New Orleans and takes down the Saints.

The way I see the MVP voting:

  1. Patrick Mahomes
  2. Drew Brees
  3. Philip Rivers.

College Football

Watching Nick Saban on the sidelines in the fourth quarter of the championship game Monday night, I could only imagine what was going through his mind.

First off, he probably was in shock that his squad was being steamrolled by Clemson and he was already starting to prepare for the 2019 season. Clemson really has it going on and Dabo Swinney can flat out coach and his players play hard for him.

The Tigers have talented players all over the roster as does Alabama. This loss will drive Saban even harder.

One of the downfalls of the 'Bama program is the considerable turnover in coordinators and position coaches which hurts on the field and in recruiting. With that being said, Alabama still had as good an early recruiting class as anyone in the country. Next January, we could see these two Goliaths go at it again.

Have a great week everyone!
