The Chargers are going into The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum this Sunday to take on the Rams in the so called Fight for L.A. Chargers coming off their win in Buffalo will have to play a flawless game against the Rams if they want to stay in it and have a chance to win late. The Rams defense in my opinion is the best in the NFL. The comment Rams All Pro Defensive linemen Aaron Donald made after they shutout an awful Arizona Cardinals team 34-0 was that our defense can get better. The Rams have it going in all areas. Head coach Sean McVay is one of the finest coaches in the league and is in only his second season as a Head Coach. The Chargers have a nice team but not to the level of the Rams. Without Defensive linemen in the lineup, Defensive Coordinator Gus Bradley has to take a few more chances to get pressure on the opponents quarterback and that could result in some big plays for the Rams. If the Chargers choose to play vanilla coverage, Jared Goff can dink and dunk the ball up and down the field. If Phillip Rivers has time to throw he will put some points on the board, just not enough. With both Kansas City and Denver starting 2-0 this is a huge game for the Chargers aside from playing against their future landlord.

Cleveland Browns 0-1-1
Head Coach Hue Jackson 3rd season 1-32-1 It might me time for a change you think?

Buffalo Bills- Defensive Back Vontae Davis last Sunday against the Chargers decided to retire at halftime -amazing!!! In a statement later, he said he could not do it anymore. Davis had a nice career. He was in his 10th NFL season and was originally a first round pick of Miami back in 2009 out of Illinois. I guess when it’s time to go you go.

Denver Broncos undrafted Rookie Running Back Phillip Lindsey tearing it up the first two games . In the first game against Seattle the rookie from Colorado rushed for 102 yards and this past Sunday against the Raiders ran for another 111 yards. Lindsey became the first undrafted player to ever rush for 100 yards in each of his first two games.

New England Patriots - Bill Belichick worked a trade with the Cleveland Browns for problematic Wide Receiver Josh Gordon. Browns also sent a 2019 conditional 7th round pick to the Patriots and the Browns will receive a 2019 5th round selection. I would think this is Gordon’s last chance. He has as much talent as any receiver in the league, but it’s sad to see a guy waste his talent like he has. He’s one failed drug test away from being banned for life. We shall see if he can stay on the straight and narrow. If he can get it together, look out,Tom Brady will have another big time weapon.

College Football

(UCLA) Is awful and really no reason to think they will turn it around this season.

(USC) Head Coach Clay Helton better figure out something quick with its very disappointing loss at Texas. The Longhorns are a very mediocre team. The men that write the big checks at SC will not be patient very long.

(San Diego State) Great win at home against then 23rd ranked Arizona State and almost let it slip away late. This week they need to follow it up with a home win against Eastern Michigan. I don’t want to hear about any kind of let down or trap game. Go out and take care of business from the start!

(Big 10) Football absolutely Terrible aside from Ohio state, Penn State and maybe Michigan. PAC 12 not much better.

Have Great week. Coach John Kentera
