The San Diego Padres made a roster move on Friday before they start a three game series in Philadelphia. 20-year old Fernando tatis Jr. will be headed to the Injured List after suffering a stress reaction in his lower back on Tuesday Night. Joining Tatis Jr. on the Injured List is Ian Kinsler with a herniated cervical disc. Both players will be on the 10-day Injured List, with Tatis being retroactive on August 14th and Ian Kinsler being retroactive for August 13th.

Replacing them on the big league club will be Ty France and Travis Jankowski who are both being recalled from Triple-A El Paso. France will be rejoining the Padres after he was with the club earlier this season. While in Triple-A El Paso, France hit a .399/.477/.770 split with the Chihuahuas with 27 home runs and 89 RBIs.

Jankowski will be making his first stint with the Padres big league club in 2019 after suffering an injury during spring training. He was optioned down to Triple-A El Paso after coming off his rehab assignment. While in Triple-A, Jankowski hit .299 with 10 RBIs, and 24 runs scored in 33 games played this season.

According to Kevin Acee of the Union Tribune, it sounds like Fernando Tatis Jr. will likely miss the rest of the 2019 season.
