While there were plenty of bright spots from an offense that appears to be rounding into regular season form, the Padres dropped a tough one late to the Rockies Friday night by a score of 6-5. Staked to a 5-1 lead heading into the bottom of the 9th, Luis Perdomo unraveled after striking out 2 of the first 3 batters he faced, culminating in a walk off 3-run home run to Rockies utility man Garrett Hampson. Despite the outcome, there were several notable offensive performances tonight for Friars fans.

Manny Machado got the Padres off to a flying start early with his opposite field double in the 1st inning that scored Ian Kinsler.

Kinsler had an excellent night at the plate himself, going 2 for 3 with a solo home run to left in the 5th inning. Manuel Margot and Austin Hedges both chipped in with 2 hits a piece, and Fernando Tatis Jr. continued to show why he is one of the most electrifying young players in baseball with 2 hits of his own and an eventful night (to say the least) on the basepaths.

The Padres are back in action tomorrow afternoon right here on 97.3 The Fan at 1:10 PM as they look to complete the Spring Training sweep of the Angels.
