Honor Roll

The Aztecs outlasted the Sun Devils.  Normally outlasting someone might be considered a backhanded compliment.  But this one isn't.  I went to the game and saw the battle the Aztecs put on against the Sun Devils all night.  They fought hard and put themselves in the position to win in the 4th quarter.

The Sun Devils didn't give SDSU much respect before or after the game.  Sitting in the end zone, I heard Sun Devil fans chirping all night until the end of the game, when they got real quiet.  Their QB had plenty to say after the game.

ASU can say what it wants all day long, but in the end, all that matters is that it was a win that Rocky Long can build a season upon because it showed the character of the team.  Good Job SDSU!

Hats off to North Texas State.  They took it to a Power-Five team in their 44-17 win over Arkansas.  This is the first time they have ever beaten the Razorbacks in ten tries, and now hold a 5-37 record versus the SEC.  Two of those wins were forfeits and the last win was in 1975 versus the SEC.  While people around Denton, Texas will remember this win for years, the rest of the country will remember the game because of the highlight they will see over and over again on Facebook.  Sophomore Keegan Brewer pulled off one of the greatest trick plays ever.  Great job Green and White!

Look out for LSU.  The Tigers were hyped and ready to get after it on Saturday at home. Unfortunately for Auburn, it was the visiting Tigers that ruled the day with an upset win on the road vs. a higher ranked team.  When LSU got done laying the wood to Miami a few weeks ago, most fans chalked it up to an overrated Canes squad.  Maybe we need to rethink that and give LSU some props.  LSU is for real.  Great win for LSU. Geaux Tigers.

Academic Probation

Pac-12 LA football.  The only thing worse than the Trojans loss to Texas on national TV, is the fans turning on Chip Kelly in Westwood.  The Bruins falling to Fresno State was embarrassing for the Baby Bears, and the Bulldogs will have this post pinned to twitter for a long time.

But the tweets after the game should have Bruins fans concerned.

Stay tuned. The Bruins are off this week which will give the haters extra time to get after their coach.

As far as the Trojans, they have their own haters after a dud on the road.  The Trojans have a freshman QB who is playing like a freshman right now.  Yes, Tommy Trojan, there were some calls missed in Austin, but the Trojans lost the "Save Your Season Bowl," period.  Sorry, but it's USC football and the Trojan fans never stand for that, no matter who is under center in the land of Troy.  Clay Helton is going to have the heat factor turned up, but that is part of the job if you are the head coach of the Trojans.

How big is the bus that is about to drive over the coach at FSU?

When Willie Taggart was the head coach at USF in Tampa, they had a promotional video of him talking up Bulls football.

Watch the full video here

Taggart left USF and headed to Oregon where he was one and done to take over a floundering Noles program from Jimbo Fisher.  But after begining the season 1-2 with thier only win coming over Samford at home by 10 points, their isn't much to smile about for FSU.  Remember that was Samford not Stanford folks, Samford the Noles fans are turning up the heat. Tough part about being a coach that comes in from out of town is that you don't have a track record or any good will built up.

The fact their are Go Fund Me pages for him to be fired means there is a bus with his name on it to be thrown under by angry FSU fans.
